Description: On 10 October 2003,
the Government of the Republic of El Salvador notified, in document
G/TBT/N/SLV/26, draft Salvadoran Mandatory Standard (NSO) No. 17.08.08:04:
"Equipment for measuring pollutant emissions from motor vehicles -
Specifications and calibration procedures" with the aim of "establish[ing]
the main characteristics, the calibration procedures, and the frequency of
these procedures, which must be adhered to, so as to ensure the reliability of
results, by equipment that is used to verify the permissible limits for
emissions of air pollutants from motor vehicles running on petrol, diesel or
other fuels". These limits have been set in NSO No. 13.11.03:01: "Atmospheric
emissions. Mobile sources".
The purpose of
the present Addendum is to notify WTO Members that the content of the
Salvadoran Mandatory Standard has been updated and that the Standard has been
converted into a Salvadoran Technical Regulation. Members will have 60 days
from the date of this notification to make comments or observations.
