2023, from the delegation of Indonesia to the Chairperson of the Dispute
Settlement Body, is circulated pursuant to Article 21.6 of the DSU.
_______________
Indonesia provided a status report in this
dispute in accordance with Article 21.6 of the DSU.
As explained in previous meetings, Indonesia
has addressed the DSB’s recommendations and rulings with respect to Measure 18
regarding self-sufficiency by enacting the Law No. 6/2023 on the Stipulation of
the Government Regulation in lieu of Law No. 2/2022 on Job Creation.
Indonesia further emphasizes its commitment
to adjust its policy regarding measures 1-17 with the enactment Minister of
Agriculture and Minister of Trade Regulations, such as, by removing harvest
period restriction, import realization requirement, six-month harvest
requirement, reference price, and domestic purchase requirement.
Indonesia also takes this opportunity to
response on complainants’ concern that Commodity Balance is a mechanism which aims
to facilitate trade by establishing an integrated national database system.
Indonesia remains ready to continue its
discussion with New Zealand and the United States to work on solutions for
these disputes and relevant issues.
