Description of content: The notified draft Regulation seeks to establish provisions to ensure the proper application of Law No. 31182 protecting the health and physical integrity of people from lead content in paints and other coating materials in order to minimize health risks to the population. It contains sanitary requirements for authorizing the manufacturing, importation, distribution and/or marketing of paints and other coating materials.

Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable: Protection of human health and safety to prevent harm to people caused by exposure to paints and other coating materials containing lead.
