Description of content: This notification is to inform Members that Myanmar announced Directive for Labelling of prepackaged food to follow which apply to all prepackaged foods manufactured domestically or import. The directive will be effective 1 year after announcement of it and after that there will be correctional phase of 3 months for large enterprise, 6 months for medium enterprise and 9 months for small enterprise.

Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable: To give information concerning quality, safety and health of prepackaged foods to consumer who can choose properly, to implement labelling of prepackaged food which is manaufactured, processed, packaged, stored, distributed, sold, imported, exported, displayed, promoted in the market to comply with local and international standards and to support traceability mechanism.; Consumer information, labelling; Protection of human health or safety; Quality requirements
