Description: "Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding Production Types, Labelling And Supervision of Tobacco Products" notified in G/TBT/N/TUR/147 (dated 7 March 2019) has been amended by the "Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding Production Types, Labelling and Supervision of Tobacco Products" and it has notified in G/TBT/N/TUR/147/Add.1 (dated 3 July 2019). A new amendment regulation has been issued related to "Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding Production Types, Labelling And Supervision of Tobacco Products".

The new amendment regulation was adopted and published on 30 June 2021 and it will enter into force at the date of publication.

With the amendment of the Regulation, special rules regarding the existing combined health warning formats were introduced, allowing the smoking cessation information area be covered partially with banderol provided that the cessation information text of the combined health warnings on cigarette unit packs and some packages of tobacco products other than cigarettes are not covered. In addition, the combined health warning field on the back surface of cigarette unit packs has been increased from 85% to 100%. Also, the quantity information on the back surface of cigarette unit packs is located on the bottom surface of the packs. A six-month transition period has been granted for compliance with the new rules.
