Addendum
The following communication,
dated 3 July 2019, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of Turkey.
Regulation
Amending the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding Production
Types, Labelling and Supervision of Tobacco Products
"Regulation
on the Procedures and Principles Regarding Production Types, Labelling And
Supervision of Tobacco Products" notified in G/TBT/N/TUR/147 (dated 7
March 2019) has been amended by the "Regulation Amending the Regulation on
the Procedures and Principles Regarding Production Types, Labelling and
Supervision of Tobacco Products".
The
amendment regulation was adopted and published on 27 June 2019 and it will
enter into force at the date of publication.
With
the first Article of amendment, the location of the variant name has been
changed from the bottom surface of the unit package of tobacco products, to the
visible front surface of unit the package, below the brand name.
The
provisional clause in the Regulation notified in G/TBT/N/TUR/147 was amended as
explained in the Article 7 of this Regulation: The issuance, renewal
of certificate of conformity for placing on the market in accordance with the
provisions of "the Regulation on Principles and Procedures for the
Production, Labelling and Control of Hazards of Tobacco Products"
(Official Gazette dated 6 January 2005 and numbered 25692) and
production, import of the tobacco products and placing them on the market shall
be permitted until 5 December 2019. (The date was 5 July 2019 in the Regulation
notified in G/TBT/N/TUR/147).
An
additional provision was inserted with Article 8: Compliance with the provision
that the health warnings in the unit package of tobacco products placed on the
market shall not be partially concealed or covered by the banderole will be
provided until 31 December 2020.
