Status Report regarding implementation of the

dsb recommendations and rulings
by China

Addendum

The following communication, dated 15 February 2018, from the delegation of China to the Chairperson of the Dispute Settlement Body, is circulated pursuant to Article 21.6 of the DSU.

On 22 May 2017, the Dispute Settlement Body ("DSB") adopted the Panel Report in the dispute China – Anti-Dumping Measures on Imports of Cellulose Pulp from Canada (WT/DS483).

 

On 1 June 2017, China and Canada informed the DSB that they had agreed that the reasonable period of time for China to implement the DSB recommendations and rulings shall be 11 months from the date of adoption of the Panel Report. Accordingly, the reasonable period of time will expire on 22 April 2018. On 19 June 2017, China informed the DSB of its intention to implement the recommendations and rulings of the DSB in connection with this matter.

 

On 25 August 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of China published a notice (Notice (2017) No. 43) and launched re-investigation on cellulose pulp from Canada.

 

Through the re-investigation mentioned above, China will fully implement the DSB recommendations and rulings in the dispute.
