Peru – additional duty on imports of certain agricultural products

Note by the secretariat

On 1 October 2015, pursuant to Article 21.3(c) of the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes ("DSU"), Guatemala referred to arbitration the matter of the reasonable period of time for Peru to implement the recommendations and rulings of the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) in Peru – Additional Duty on Imports of Certain Agricultural Products (DS457).

By joint letter dated 9 October 2015, Peru and Guatemala agreed on Mr Ricardo Ramírez-Hernández to serve as arbitrator pursuant to Article 21.3(c) of the DSU. In a letter dated 9 October 2015, Mr Ramírez-Hernández informed Peru and Guatemala that he accepts the appointment to serve as arbitrator.
