United States – Anti-Dumping Measures on Certain Shrimp from Viet Nam

Appointment of Arbitrator under Article 21.3(c)
of the Understanding on Rules and Procedures
Governing the Settlement of Disputes

Note by the secretariat

On 17 September 2015, pursuant to Article 21.3(c) of the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes (DSU), Viet Nam referred to arbitration the matter of the reasonable period of time for the United States to implement the recommendations and rulings of the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) in United States – Anti-Dumping Measures on Certain Shrimp from Viet Nam (DS429).

By joint letter dated 7 October 2015, the United States and Viet Nam agreed on Mr Simon Farbenbloom to serve as arbitrator pursuant to Article 21.3(c) of the DSU. In a letter dated 8 October 2015, Mr Farbenbloom informed the United States and Viet Nam that he accepts the appointment to serve as arbitrator.
