Communication from Brazil

The following communication, dated 24 February 2015, from the delegation of Brazil to the delegation of China, the delegation of the United States and to the Chairperson of the Dispute Settlement Body, is circulated in accordance with Article 4.11 of the DSU.

Pursuant to Article 4.11 of the DSU, I would like to inform you that Brazil considers it has a substantial trade interest in the following dispute: China – Measures Related to Demonstration Bases and Common Service Platforms Programmes.

As you are aware, Brazil is an important producer, importer and exporter of the goods allegedly benefited from the measures mentioned in the request for consultations. Consequently, the outcome of the dispute could have a relevant impact on Brazilian producers, importers, exporters and consumers.

In light of the above, I have been instructed to express Brazil's desire to be joined in the consultations requested by the United States in document WT/DS489/1. I look forward to receiving China's reply to this request.
