Status Report Regarding Implementation of the Recommendations and Rulings

of the DSB in Chile – Price Band System and Safeguard Measures

Relating to Certain Agricultural Products (WT/DS207)

            Pursuant to Article 21.6 of the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes (DSU), Chile hereby presents its third status report on progress in the implementation of the recommendations or rulings in Chile – Price Band System and Safeguard Measures Relating to Certain Agricultural Products (WT/DS207).

            In previous reports, Chile indicated that through Law 19.897, the price band system had been brought into line with the recommendations and rulings of the DSB.  This Law was supplemented by Supreme Decree No. 831 of the Ministry of Finance regulating essential aspects of the price band system, which will enter into force on 16 December 2003 in respect of wheat and wheat flour, products at issue in this dispute.  All of these implementation measures reflect the said DSB recommendations or rulings both in form and in substance.
