NOTIFICATION FROM THE MEMBER STATeS OF THE
ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH EAST ASIAN NATIONS TO THE COMMITTEE ON trade and
development
The following
communication, dated 23 August 2021, is being circulated at the request of the Delegations
of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic,
Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam.

Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines,
Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam wish to notify that the Agreement on the Common Effective Preferential
Tariff Scheme for the ASEAN Free Trade Area (CEPT-AFTA) which was notified
under the Enabling Cause[1]
was superseded by the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA).[2]
