Indonesia – Measures relating to Raw Materials
Request for Consultations by the European
Union
The
following communication, dated 22 November 2019, from the delegation of the European Union to the delegation of Indonesia, is circulated to the Dispute
Settlement Body in accordance with Article 4.4 of the DSU.

My
authorities have instructed me to request consultations with the Government of
Indonesia pursuant to Articles 1 and 4 of the Understanding on Rules and
Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes (DSU), Article XXII:1 of the
General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994 (GATT 1994) and Article 4.1 of the
Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (ASCM) with regard to
various measures concerning certain raw materials necessary for the production
of stainless steel, as well as a cross-sectoral import duty exemption scheme
conditional upon the use of domestic over imported goods.
