NOTIFICATION BY THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

 

The following communication, dated 28 March 2016, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of the Russian Federation.

        The Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the World Trade Organization presents its compliments to the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization and has the honor to notify that a number of bilateral free trade agreements previously in force, which had been notified under Article XXIV:7(a) of the GATT, are terminated in accordance with Article 23.2 of the Treaty on a Free Trade Area between Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

 

        According to the corresponding Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation the Free Trade Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, the Free Trade Agreement between the Russian Federation and Armenia, the Free Trade Agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, the Free Trade Agreement between the Russian Federation and Belarus, the Free Trade Agreement between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan and the Free Trade Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova became null and void, as did the respective annexes, appendices, protocols and decisions signed under these instruments (a list of terminated agreements and the relevant WTO documents and document series is provided in Annex 1).
