Machinery, plant or laboratory equipment, whether or not electrically heated (excluding furnaces, ovens and other equipment of heading 85.14), for the treatment of materials by a process involving a change of temperature such as heating, cooking, roasting, distilling, rectifying, sterilising, pasteurising, steaming, drying, evaporating, vaporising, condensing or cooling, other than machinery or plant of a kind used for domestic purposes; instantaneous or storage water heaters, non-electric. (HS 8419), Industrial or laboratory electric furnaces and ovens (including those functioning by induction or dielectric loss); other industrial or laboratory equipment for the heat treatment of materials by induction or dielectric loss. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Ordinance Nº 487, 04 November 2014. The text proposes to rewrite and, include some items of the document previously notified as G/TBT/N/BRA/461/Add.1 in order to upgrade and establishes more appropriate criteria to assess conformity by micro and small enterprises’ products, covered by the Compliance Assessment Program for Water Heating Solar Equipment (5 pages, in Portuguese)


Description of content: The revised text proposes to include three (3) different certification models (items 6.1); to include item 6.4 as certification model 3; and to rewrite clauses 6.2.1 and 6.2.2, to provide terms and conditions to assess and maintain conformity. Other provisions contained in the Inmetro Ordinance Nº 352/2012 notified as document G/TBT/N/BRA/461/Add.1, remain unchanged.
