Structure



The Taiwan WTO&RTA Center is headed by an Executive Director, who is assisted by a Deputy Executive Director. The Executive Director is in charge of the overall affairs of the center, and the Deputy Executive Director oversees the administration of the center, including the research on the WTO/RTA issues, the operation of promotion activities and training programs, and the advisory activities and negotiation facilitation. The center also supported by a consultative committee and a senior consultant group, which offer guidance and advice to the management team.

The Taiwan WTO&RTA Center houses more than 40 highly professional staffs. Major projects are undertaken by in-house research fellows with Master’s or Ph.D. degree from prestigious academic institutions. The research fellows are further supported by an interdisciplinary research group, which consists of senior consultants of CIER and experts from other institutions. Therefore, the research team has the capacity to undertake multidisciplinary research. Based on major WTO/RTA issues, the research area is divided into 15 units to support the government’s participation in WTO and RTA activities.

What We Offer

WTO&RTA Center Organization And Duties

  • WTO Research

    In addition to WTO-related fundamentals and practical affairs, the research department also consists of various divisions responsible for simulation, negotiation strategies, and planning, to provide government agencies with WTO-related research services.

  • RTA Research

    Conducting analysis related to overall international economy and industrial economy and provides government agencies with RTA-related research services.

  • Advisory and Negotiation Facilitation

    Providing government agencies with WTO and RTA-related legal and economic consultations, as well as WTO and RTA-related research reports; participates in related domestic and international meetings and negotiations.

  • Outreach and Capacity Building

    - Public Relations and Promotion: Conducting WTO and RTA-related activities including conferences and lectures, as well as strengthen communication channels among academia, the government, the public, and media.
    - Training: Offers the public training and distance learning seminars on WTO and RTA-related affairs.
    - International Affairs: Strengthening international academic network through organizing international conferences.
    - Promotion and Publication: Translating, editing, and publishing works produced by Taiwan WTO&RTA, including lectures, books, and e-analysis of current issues.

  • Information

    - WTO Database: Providing WTO and RTA-related resource services; establishes and maintains the website and database of Taiwan WTO Center.
    - WTO Library: Maintaining the WTO library and providing the public with borrower services assistance.
    - WTO E-Paper:Regularly publishing and editing WTO E-Paper, provides important WTO and RTA-related events, issue analysis, and information.

  • Administration

    Serves as liaison responsible for daily administrative and managerial work of the Center.
