The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) lifts the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from the state of Tennessee, United States of America

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Decision No. 41548 dated 18 September 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from the state of Tennessee, United States of America. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Decision No. 25306 dated 14 March 2017 (15/06/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from the state of Tennessee, United States of America, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the state of Tennessee, United States of America.

Based on OIE report No. 24552 dated 11 August 2017, the state of Tennessee, United States of America is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from the state of Tennessee, United States of America is negligible.
