DA Memorandum Order No. 93, series of 2014,
lifting temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their
products including poultry meat, day-old chicks, eggs, and semen originating
from Poland

The Department of Agriculture (DA) issued
Memorandum Order (MO) No. 16, series of 2011, lifting the temporary ban on
the importation of domestic and wild birds and their products including
poultry meat, day-old chicks, eggs, and semen originating from Poland, which
was imposed per DA MO No. 23, series of 2007, due to the reported outbreak of
highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). DA MO No. 93, s. 2014 took effect
on 7 October 2014.
Based on the report submitted to the World
Organization for Animal Health (OIE) by Dr. Ewa Lech, Chief Veterinary
Officer, General Veterinary Inspectorate, Warsaw,
Poland that the HPAI event
in Poland
has already been resolved on 1 August 2008. Based on the evaluation of the
Bureau of Animal Industry of the Philippines,
the risk of contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from Poland is
negligible.
