Notice Amending the Canadian Food Inspection
Agency User Fees: Destination Inspection Service
The proposal notified in
G/TBT/N/CAN/356/Add.1 (dated 9 January 2013) was adopted with amendments coming
into force on 1 April 2014.
This
notice implements the final step of a three-year phased-in approach to fully
cost recover the Destination Inspection Service (DIS) program. The fully cost
recovered fees will allow for the continued provision of a high quality and
respected inspection service that is of direct benefit to the fresh produce
industry.
The
CFIA re-examined its business model in response to comments received and an
adjusted business model has been adopted. The adjusted business model results
in a decreased hourly rate and elimination of the separate call-out fee. A
