WORKSHOP ON TRADE IN FINANCIAL SERVICES AND DEVELOPMENT
Informal Note by the Secretariat
1. At its meeting on 26 September 2011, on the basis of an original proposal by China, the Committee decided to organize a workshop on the relationship between trade in financial services and development. The purpose of this informal Note is to advance the preparations of this event by setting out a possible outline.
2. The purpose of the workshop is to pursue the discussion launched last year, focusing on aspects of the relationship between trade in financial services and development that might be of direct relevance for Members.
3. It is proposed that the workshop be held during the week of 7 May.
4. As agreed by Members, the workshop will include presentations by representatives from relevant international organizations, academics and Government experts from Capitals. A balanced repres
