EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The international community, under the auspices of the United Nations framework, adopted the Brussels Programme of Action for the LDCs for the decade 2001 2010 (BPOA), at the third United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries, held in Brussels in 2001. A decade later, the Fourth United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDC IV) will be held in Istanbul in May 2011, which will undertake an assessment of the results of the ten year action programme contained in the BPOA, and will adopt new measures and strategies for the next decade.
As an input into the LDC IV, this report has been prepared by the Director General of the WTO
