In Paragraph 31(ii) of the Doha Ministerial Declaration, Ministers agreed to negotiations, without prejudging their outcome, on "procedures for regular information exchange between MEA Secretariats and the relevant WTO committees, and the criteria for the granting of observer status." Moreover, the Doha Ministerial Declaration contains a number of references to the importance of cooperation and information exchange. In the Preamble, Ministers welcomed "the WTO's continued cooperation with UNEP and other inter-governmental environmental organizations.
