Strategies for the
reorganization of supply chain unveiled
The Taiwan
External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has teamed up with the American
Institute in Taiwan to unveil strategies for the reorganization of the supply
chain.
A report the two
organizations released on Thursday is the first of its kind in Taiwan. It says
the supply chain must go green and digital in line with the values of
sustainable development.
TAITRA Chairman
James Huang said that Taiwan is not only a key component manufacturer, but also
the most important management leader in the supply chain.
To strengthen
Taiwan’s role, however, Huang said the island must work closely with the United
States in the areas of talent exchanges, innovative research and development,
and business cooperation models.
Huang said the
Biden administration has already launched a US$2.3 trillion infrastructure
plan. Under the plan, 650,000 government vehicles will be replaced with
electric vehicles. In addition, 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations will
be set up, which Huang said is a great opportunity for Taiwan.
